Young people are engaged as never before in expressing themselves through the creative arts, from hip hop and rap to documentary film-making.

Encouraging youth to creatively address issues such as inequality and violence inspires them to think and act in innovative, life-enhancing, relationship-affirming ways.

Our mission...

The Youth as Leaders pilot project will reduce the epidemic of violence against Inuit, Métis and First Nation women and girls through creative, youth-led, peer education and prevention activities. The Youth as Leaders training program empowers youth to:

• identify issues of inequality and violence that concern them
• tap into their own creativity and traditional teachings for solutions
• mobilize their peers and communities to help carry out their plans
