Collecting things is a very good hobby. Especially if you are collecting sports memorabilia, the thing about sports memorabilia is that they would increase in value if they have been in your possession for a good amount of time. Raising the value would not be as hard for you would be doing one thing that you have been doing for the past years, that’s keeping your memorabilia in top condition to retain the value. Now keeping sports memorabilia as good as it was when you first got it would range from keeping it in a very safe place with all the precautionary measures you need to do in order for you to keep the item safe.
For the past years the collection for sports memorabilia includes the collections of basketball cards, photos, jerseys and even the most popular baseball cards. If you don’t know how much top baseball cards cost today then you would be shocked on how much they would be valued at. The top ten most sought after baseball cards would begin from Micky Mantle in his bowman SGC 96 that would go up to $160,000. That is more than a normal American gets each year. Now imagine that’s only a piece of what is in store for you in the top ten most valuable baseball cards.
Now card collection is nothing without the famous Babe Ruth, now you would be thinking that Babe would have the highest paid baseball card in the world. Well you would be wrong, even though Babe’s card would go up to $500,000 it would be impossible to think that any card would go past that value. In fact Babe is just the next card away from the most expensive card out there. Now you would be thinking why would a godamn card reach that high? Well that’s the beauty of collecting. The mere fact that it is very hard to collect a thing that everyone else is collecting makes it even hard to get a hand of it.
It’s just plain supply and demand. The supply of these cards has been ended many years ago making the remaining cards valued at a very high price. Now for that highest paid baseball card, that number one spot is given to Honus Wagner. Everyone knows a Honus Wagner card when they are into collecting baseball cards. Why? For the fact that this card was last valued at $2,800,000! Now that’s a lot of money for one single card. That’s how supply and demand works. That’s what collecting items can get you in, hey if you want to start your own collection now better start buying yourself one of those rare cards and start counting the years.
